Riddells Creek Farm House

Nestled atop a winding, tree-lined road just a short drive from the charming town of Riddells Creek, the Riddells Creek Farm House emerges as a serene retreat. This project by JACKA DESIGN has been a transformative journey, reorienting spaces, opening walls, and creating a seamless flow throughout the home.

As you approach, you’re greeted by a meticulously curated garden of box hedges, leading you past a cast iron fountain that enchants the senses. The welcoming front door is flanked by pairs of manicured topiaries, inviting you into a world of elegance and comfort.

Upon entering, the central hall captures your attention, offering a moment of pause by the warm wood fire. This space provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, setting a tranquil tone. To your right lies the calming lounge, where blue and white reign supreme. Tailored sofas and bold striped chairs harmonise with a delightful chintz fabric adorned with blooms in various shades of blue, all beautifully complemented by an impressive collection of blue and white ceramics.

Tucked away from the lounge, the master suite invites relaxation, featuring a classic curved headboard and elegant antique chests that create an ideal sanctuary.

Venturing back to the entrance, you’ll find the heart of the home: the kitchen. Designed with timeless appeal, its bold grey island is surrounded by cabinetry that hugs the walls with understated elegance. A vibrant fabric adorned with dancing lemons adds a playful touch to the space. Adjacent to the kitchen, a cosy family dining nook showcases the warm tones of European oak, beautifully accented by grass green upholstery on the dining chairs and bench seat. Above, a handcrafted geometric pendant light adds a whimsical charm.

As you leave the entrance behind, the family bathroom beckons. Here, a free-standing tulip bath rests within a calming palette of warm greys and taupes. The marble-topped vanity is elegantly complemented by antique silver sconces and a milk glass pendant, creating a soothing retreat.

Continuing down the hallway, you arrive at the rumpus room, which boasts impressive views over the farm. The foundation of this spacious area is a seagrass rug in a basket weave design. The room is thoughtfully divided into two zones: one features an antique round pedestal table surrounded by upholstered chairs in a bold leaf print, complemented by a hand-painted Hollywood Regency cabinet filled with antique books behind intricate brass lattice details. The second zone offers a cosy escape, with warm leather sofas and bobbin armchairs. Fitted shelves serve as perfect perches for displaying cherished pieces.

In the Riddells Creek Farm House, every corner reflects a story of thoughtful design and harmonious living, inviting you to indulge in its serene beauty.
