One of my favourite summer pastimes is taking entertaining outdoors, from breakfast under a wild wisteria, long leisurely lunches under giant old trees too evenings spent enjoying champagne watching the sun set on a sandy beach, there is nothing quite like enjoying a bite outdoors!
Most of my summer feasts have very little planning, I just pull together what is at hand and I always love seeing how everything comes together to create a special moment.
My alfresco tables are set with handmade Italian plates painted with green, layers of natural linens, mouthblown Mexican glass, plants from the garden and jugs filled with my delicious summer cocktails!
I’m always drawn to simple summer favourites for the food, from my Pea, Mint and Chicken salad to the simple Australian staple of the BBQ. Nothing needs to be too hard or fancy, the simpler the better in my book!
So the next time there is a beautiful day on the horizon perhaps think about taking your feast alfresco, I promise you will have a fabulous time!
