Hello Again Melbourne!
Wow what a few months it’s been! If you’re not from Melbourne, you are probably wondering why this post is titled “Hello Again Melbourne”? Well here in Melbourne we have just come out of what at times felt like a never-ending lockdown (12 long weeks!), with work & travel restrictions and night-time curfews it was a challenging time, but with spring and the festive season warming up there is a feeling of optimism and excitement in the air!
With our lives slowing moving into “a new normal” it feels like we are now truly wanting more than ever for our homes to be a sanctuary, places that are comfortable, resolved and a space to relax and enjoy.
Achieving your dream Melbourne home is easier than you might think, the biggest step is often the first and most daunting, but once you start on your interior design journey, it will be one of the most exciting and fun times, exploring your homes potential and creating an interior that is a personal expression of your own individual style!
When I first meet with new clients it is a time of great excitement and anticipation (It feels a little like the first day at school), but before long everything starts to fall into place and I love watching as houses become homes that truly reflect their owners and their dreams!
At the beginning of a new interior design project I never quite know what the final result will be. It is always so much fun watching a project come together, from the initial concepts and sketches, selecting furniture and fabrics and embarking on kitchen and bathroom transformations.
When all the painting is finished, the curtains are hung, and the furniture is installed it really does feel like Christmas (A very grown up Christmas!).
One of the most special moments for me as an Interior Designer is the phone call on the evening of a home installation, the moment when a client is exploring their new interior for the first time, discovering my completed vision, from the smallest details to the boldest moments, everything feels and looks resolved and ready to be lived in!
